Canine Behavior Consultant, Renée Cawley  has worked with animals since 1975.  For over 30 years, she watched as too many pets were taken to shelters for behavior problems that were actually very simple to correct.  As she began to deal with more owners and their pets, it became clear that some of the very basics of animal behavior and instinctual necessities were not being addressed.  The simple concept of exercise and the instinctual need to move in nature (sometimes over 10 hours a day to find food and shelter) were being completely ignored.  Quality exercise, coupled with innovative training techniques, are the beginnings of a beneficial program that will help lead to happy, healthy pets.

At Kinetic K9, we work with dogs through exercise, education and proven behavior techniques to create healthy, happy, life-long relationships between people and their pets.

It is our desire to demonstratehow easy it is to have happy and healthy relationship with all of your pets, without aggression or behavior issues. Our goal is a compassionate, pet-friendly community and society.

Through a lifetime of research and experience, we have seen how much a beneficial exercise program can decrease common behavior problems in dogs.

Studies have shown that an active dog is much less prone to behavioral problems than an inactive dog.  We have been using this philosophy in our work for years.  It is now the accepted standard for all cutting edge training, daycare and boarding facilities.

Benefits of Canine Exercise:
  • Proven to reduce or eliminate common behaviors such as digging, excessive barking, chewing and hyperactivity. Dogs need physical and mental stimulation every day.
  • Exercise helps prevent boredom and channels the dog's energy in a productive, acceptable direction.
  • Exercise helps keep pets healthy, agile and limber.
  • Exercise reduces the incidence of digestive problems and constipation.
  • Exercise helps prevent depression.
  • Exercise is a good way to help timid or fearful dogs build confidence and trust.
  • Exercise promotes healthy rest. A well-exercised dog will be sleepy instead of restless when it's time to relax or go to bed.
  • Exercise is key to weight control.

*Our programs are NOT meant to replace the other activities you currently enjoy with your pet. In order to reinforce bonding and leadership, it is essential you continue to exercise your dog as you always have.

Kinetic K9’s programs and methods are not obedience or other types of traditional training.  Instead, we develop individual conditioning programs to make the other training and activities your dog does more productive and effective.   Kinetic K9 sessions are supplemental programs designed to improve your dogs behavior and enhance his overall health and fitness level.

*Kinetic K9 courses are not medical treatments and not to be used as therapy after an accident or surgery.  Please have your dog checked by a veterinarian before beginning any physical program aimed at behavior modification, weight loss or rehabilitation.

Kinetic K9 was founded in Boise, Idaho and currently operates out of Henderson / Las Vegas, Nevada, but we will help dogs everywhere.  We are happy to do telephone or e-mail consultations (dog training, behavior modification, individual exercise program consultation and much more!).

Whether training for an upcoming event, long-distance hiking/camping trip, Therapy or Service Dog duty, travel or just to improve your dog's overall behavior and conditioning, Kinetic K9 wants to help.
